CCA response to Community pharmacy drug reimbursement reforms

The CCA responded to proposals by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) which intend to reform some of the drug reimbursement arrangements for community pharmacy in England.

Our response agrees with DHSC that the arrangements generally work well and that they may work better with improvements to the mechanisms through which community pharmacies are reimbursed for the drugs they dispense against an NHS prescription. However, the response also highlights that there are several factors that need to be considered to avoid unintended consequences.
