Joint working

We are proud of our continued efforts to promote a more unified voice within the sector.

Jointly with other community pharmacy organisations, we contribute to three cross-sector working groups focused on patient safety, workforce development and IT development.

The CCA co-funds the All-Party Pharmacy Group. We routinely address the APPG’s members on matters of interest to our members.

  1. Co-funding the Pharmacy All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), alongside the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIM), the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and Community Pharmacy England (CPE). The APPG raises awareness of the profession of pharmacy, and also promotes pharmacists’ current and potential contribution to the health of the nation.
  2. Working with the NPA, pharmaceutical industry associations, wholesalers and parallel distributors, we co-fund SecurMed UK, a not-for-profit company set up to establish the UK Medicines Verification System as required under the Falsified Medicines Directive.
  3. The chief executives from the CCA, the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIM), the NPA, PSNC and the RPS also meet regularly to discuss ways in which these organisations can work together on areas of common interest.
