CCA press release: CCA Conference 2026 to lead discussion on pressing issues affecting future of community pharmacy

The Company Chemists’ Association (CCA) has confirmed further details of its annual Conference, taking place on 30 June in Westminster. The event follows the CCA’s inaugural Conference last year and will bring together leaders from across government, healthcare and community pharmacy.

Haleon have been confirmed as a ‘Gold’ sponsor of the 2026 Conference.

Jo Cooper, GM GB&I at Haleon, said: “Haleon is delighted to be a Gold sponsor of the Company Chemists’ Association annual Conference. The Conference is an important opportunity to bring together leaders from across the health system to discuss the future of community pharmacy.

Community pharmacy plays a vital role in supporting self-care, improving access to advice and care, and delivering better everyday health across the UK.”

Haleon (LSE/NYSE: HLN) is a global leader in consumer health, with a purpose to deliver better everyday health with humanity. Haleon’s product portfolio spans six major categories – Oral Health, Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS), Pain Relief, Respiratory Health, Digestive Health and Therapeutic Skin Health. Its superior brands – such as Corsodyl, Sensodyne, Panadol, Voltarol, Otrivine, Piri and Centrum – are built on trusted science, innovation and deep human understanding.

AbbVie and Cencora have been confirmed a ‘Silver’ sponsors.

Amy Peters, Head of Government Affairs at AbbVie UK said: “We’re thrilled to be a silver sponsor of the CCA’s 2026 Conference and participate in a panel discussion around what new models of care such as neighbourhood health mean for the community pharmacy sector.”

Owen Cooper, VP NHS, Government Relations & Contracting said: “We’re pleased to be supporting the CCA Conference as a Silver sponsor and to be part of such an important moment for community pharmacy. Bringing together leaders from across the NHS, government and the sector, the Conference provides the ideal platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead, and Cencora Alliance Healthcare, is proud to play its part in that conversation.”

Bronze sponsors for this year’s Conference are BHR BIOSYNEX, Brabners, Eclosix, and Real World Analytics. For a second year, Communications International Group will serve at the Conference’s media partners.

The Conference will be chaired by Dame Barbara Hakin, the former Deputy Chief Executive of NHS England. Around 200 delegates are expected to attend, including senior officials from the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), NHS England (NHSE) and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), alongside pharmacy businesses of all sizes, think-tanks, academics and patient groups.

Following last year’s event, which featured remarks from Alex Morton, Group Director – Primary Care, NHS England, and Sir Jeremy Hunt, the former Chancellor and Health and Social Care Secretary, the 2026 Conference will focus on the most pressing issues shaping the future of community pharmacy.

The agenda will include panel discussions on neighbourhood health and independent prescribing, alongside wider debates on reform, delivery and sustainability.

The Conference comes at a pivotal moment for the sector, following the latest round of funding and Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) negotiations, almost a year since the publication of the 10-Year Plan, and just months ahead of the first cohort of independent prescribers qualifying in September 2026.

Malcolm Harrison, Chief Executive of the CCA, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the CCA Conference for a second year and to welcome colleagues and partners from across the health system at what is a truly critical moment for community pharmacy.

With funding negotiations having taken place and the first cohort of independent prescribing pharmacists entering the workforce later this year, the CCA Conference comes at a pivotal time for the sector.

Community pharmacy is woven into the fabric of neighbourhood health, and I’m especially looking forward to the discussions on how we unlock that potential, including the next steps towards independent prescribing as pharmacy’s clinical contribution continues to grow.”

Further details, including the full programme and speaker line-up, will be announced in due course.
