Job Details
Are you a pharmacist with an interest in local and national professional policy, looking to support the development of strategic solutions to some of the biggest challenges in Pharmacy and Healthcare across the UK?
The CCA is the trade association for large pharmacy operators in England, Scotland and Wales. We represent the interests of our members and provide a forum for them to combine their unique scale, skills and knowledge for the benefit of patients, the public and the NHS. Our vision is that everyone, everywhere, can benefit from world class healthcare and wellbeing services provided by their community pharmacy. Between them, our members own around 6,000 community pharmacies representing almost half of the UK community pharmacy market.
We have created a new position within our Policy team for a Policy and Planning Manager for Local and Wales to support policy, strategy and research, working with the biggest high street pharmacy brands in the UK and a small executive team.
This is an exciting period of change for the sector, and you will support the development of models to enable better integration of community pharmacy into primary care, working closely together with local pharmacy organisations in England and with regional and national bodies in Wales. At the CCA we help to create the right environment for partnership working across corporate and public organisations, lead on the development of clinical services to be offered through community pharmacy, and create the frameworks and tools to ensure that equality is embedded into service design and delivery.
In 2021, the CCA will be working on many priority issues to ensure the continued provision of safe and effective care to patients and the sustainability of the sector for our members and the NHS. The position of Policy and Planning Manager for Local and Wales will be a dual role, with focus split between supporting over 300 CCA nominated representatives sitting on local committees across England and leading our work on developing policy positions on all relevant Welsh issues, effectively managing the production and use of those policy positions, and associated programmes of work, for the benefits of CCA members in Wales.
You will represent and express the position of the CCA at various events, meetings and on external working groups or committees. Working alongside the CCA’s specialist support working groups for Local and Wales, you will ensure that their plans and activities deliver to the overall business plan of the organisation. You will provide the secretariat support and project delivery functions for both working groups.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable and able to work on several different areas of work at any one time and work alongside several colleagues.
