All CCA members see the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) as a critical step for enabling the sector to become a more service orientated healthcare provider within the NHS. We hope that the service will support operational integration and embed community pharmacy within in the local NHS system. Wherever possible, all CCA members will be signing up their pharmacies to deliver this service.
We recognise that there many training and engagement events being planned and provided by LPCs and NHSE local teams to support contractors and pharmacy professionals to deliver this new service. Many of our members also provide training for their pharmacy teams and some will have in place training specifically aimed at the CPCS. Therefore, CCA members have agreed that the decision on whether to take up local training solutions will be made locally and based upon local need and resource.
