The GPhC has today (17 September) taken a new approach to publishing the inspection results of licensed pharmacies.
Malcolm Harrison, Chief Executive of the CCA, said: “We support the GPhC’s new approach in publishing inspection results of regulated pharmacies for the first time today. We agree with the move towards a more flexible and responsive regulatory approach, especially as the delivery of pharmacy services evolves. Transparency around inspection results will give patients the information they need to make an informed choice about which community pharmacy they use and drive quality improvement among contractors.
“As with any new system, we expect the GPhC to keep this under review to ensure that this approach achieves the aims it is intended to. We look forward to continuing to work with the GPhC on this important issue for patients and contractors.”
