Following the publication of the Review Steering Group proposals on pharmacy representation Malcolm Harrison, Chief Executive of the Company Chemists’ Association said:
“We welcome the publication of these proposals for pharmacy representation which we hope will, amongst other things, deliver a better resourced PSNC to improve its negotiating capacity and secure better outcomes for the entire sector in the future.
At the start of this process, we set out our ambitions for the sector’s representation and we recognise that this prospectus represents a compromise position marking the start of the next phase on the journey of change. We are confident that these proposals will provide stronger governance, better representation both nationally and locally and greater value for money for contractors.
We look forward to working closely with our Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) representatives so that they fully understand the proposed changes and we encourage all contractors to engage with the upcoming process”.
