Community Pharmacy IT Group

The Community Pharmacy IT Group (CPITG) is a cross-sector working group hosted by the NPA, with equal representation from the CCA, the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIM), the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiation Committee (PSNC) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS). 

The group is England only: representatives from pharmacy system suppliers and NHS Digital also participate in the group’s meetings. 

The group provides a forum for representatives to discuss new digital technologies which may have a future impact on community pharmacy practice and to establish a shared vision for the optimum use of digital technology in community pharmacy in England. 

The group develops user-led recommendations for consideration by pharmacy system suppliers and provides a forum for sector-wide engagement with key national stakeholders.  The group is developing an implementation strategy for delivering optimum use of digital technology in community pharmacy and overseeing a joint work programme to deliver it.
